Duties

The Administrative Services Assistant (OA) provides technical and administrative support to various program areas. If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York, located in Brooklyn, New York, focusing in the areas of administrative services.

**Typical work assignments will include**:
Providing processing support to human resources program areas.
Assisting with the preparation and monitoring of budgets and invoices.
Maintaining property records and conducting inventory.
Utilizing electronic databases to track information.

**Requirements**:

A probationary period may be required.

**Qualifications**:
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**: To be considered mínimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying: To qualify at the GS-7 level, you mustpossess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal government (obtained in the public or private sector) performing, at minimum, three (3) of the four (4) following duties:
Providing technical assistance or processing support to human resources activities/actions.
Participating in the preparation and/or review of budget activities.
Assisting with conducting property inventory and/or maintaining property records.
Using electronic databases to produce and/or track documents.
**Typing Proficiency**: To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

**TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS**: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level.
You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases).
