Founded in 1991 in close partnership with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), The Los Angeles Trust for Children’s Health (The L.A. Trust) is a non-profit organization that champions school-based health care programs. The L.A. Trust supports comprehensive school-based health care for LA County’s highest-need students and believe that student wellness is a critical factor in student academic achievement. The L.A. Trust’s strategic goals are: 1) to amplify youth voice and health leadership; 2) drive systems change for wellness centered schools; 3) promote data informed schools-based wellness; and 4) enhance organizational capabilities.

**JOB SUMMARY**

This position requires a detail-oriented, self-motivated manager who is flexible, well-organized, and able to communicate effectively. Under the direction of the Finance Director, the Fiscal Analyst position is accountable for the accounting operations of the organization and understanding school financing. Responsibilities include: the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhancing the accuracy of the organization’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

The Fiscal Analyst will oversee incoming grants, contracting, reporting, community schools funding, and other administrative functions. Working with the Finance Director, Executive Director, Fund Development and Communications Director, and the Community Schools Director, the Fiscal Analyst will develop strategies to optimize the grant and contract management process in order to support of the organization's evolving needs. The Fiscal Analyst will work with staff to provide fiscal support in developing grant budgets and provide expenditure tracking and financial forecasting for all The L.A. Trust grants. The Fiscal Analyst will develop expertise around the tenets of braided funding for community schools and support LA County school districts to diversify their financing approach.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Collaborates with the fund development team to develop budgets and budget narratives during the RFP Process.
- Reviews contracts terms and gathers required signatures, submits partially executed contract to funders.
- Maintains up-to-date and accurate database of reporting due dates, keeping relevant staff informed of upcoming deadlines.
- Ensures fiscal reporting compliance by following all guidelines and funder requirements set forth in the grant agreements.
- Manages the contracts and grants flow processes.
- Creates a unique grant number for new awards.
- Creates internal budget variance reports.
- Prepares monthly billings, budget variance reports, forecasts, allocations, expenditure reports.
- Assists in developing and managing grants/project budgets; and ensures the completion of all financial narrative and reports to funders and internal staff in cooperation with the development team and Community Schools Director.
- Regular check-ins and works closely with program and fund development staff on project goals, YTD spending via budget variance report, outcomes, and grant deliverables.
- Prepare annual organization budget with detailed individual grants.
- Monitors grant expenditures to ensure spending is within budget limits.
- Prepares fiscal monitoring for audit review.
- Updates expense reimbursement and invoice forms when necessary.
- Reviews, approves, and tracks all grant-related reimbursements/disbursements in accordance with contractual guidelines.
- Labor allocation maintenance in Insperity monthly basis.
- Other financial duties assigned by Director of Finance.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Experience**:

- Knowledge of grants processes; including ability to review, administer, monitor, and maximize grant funding.
- Ability to write and organize financial and accounting reports
- Knowledge of best practice organizational policies, procedures, and systems.
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to prepare and present on fiscal matters and provide technical assistance to varied levels of staff up to leadership.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with staff, the public and external agencies.
