This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the food truck's operations, including menu planning, food preparation, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
**Responsibilities**:
- Plan, develop, and execute a diverse and nutritious menu that meets the dietary needs and preferences of the homeless population served by Beauty 2 The Streetz.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality ingredients and food products at competitive prices.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and service operations on the food truck, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff and volunteers, providing guidance, support, and feedback as needed to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and track expenses to stay within budgetary constraints.
- Develop and implement procedures for food truck setup, breakdown, and maintenance to ensure smooth operations during outreach events and activities.
- Collaborate with program managers and outreach teams to coordinate food distribution schedules and locations effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory, sales, and other relevant data for reporting and evaluation purposes.
- Stay informed about local health regulations, food safety guidelines, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a food truck or catering environment.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques, recipes, and menu planning.
- ServSafe Food Handler certification required; ServSafe Manager certification preferred.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertaining to food handling, storage, and sanitation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate outreach events and activities.
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Beauty 2 The Streetz and a passion for serving the homeless population.
