Dean of Students staff serve students through programs, events, resources, and services built around student support, student involvement, and student conduct. Our services also include Student Governance Organizations. Dean of Students is one of eight departments in the Division of Student Affairs.

Sorority and Fraternity Life within the Office of the Dean of Student’s mission is to foster responsible leadership and personal development within the sorority and fraternity community through education, coaching, and collaboration with individuals and organizations. The shared commitment is to advance a supportive environment that strengthens a sense of belonging, and aligns members' actions with their shared values, ensuring a holistic and enriching college experience. The Sorority and Fraternity Life staff and student team members serve as liaisons and collaborators with our 63 fraternities and sororities, six student-led governing councils, collectively representing 15% of the undergraduate population on campus.

Purpose

The Assistant Director will serve as part of the Sorority and Fraternity Life team and provide administrative, programmatic, and leadership support for area student programs and serve as the advisor to one or more SFL governing councils. Along with council advising, the focus of this position includes collaborating on existing or new partnered programs, manages communication efforts, and coordinates the unit’s orientation involvement.

**Responsibilities**:
- Actively participate in the planning and implementation of area programs within Sorority and Fraternity Life which may include curriculum writing, workshop facilitation, large scale event coordination, facilitating relationships with stakeholders on and off campus, conduct program evaluation, and assessment.- Advise the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), Texas Asian Pan-Hellenic Council (TAPC), and their member organizations, related committees and programs, and stakeholders that represent the community. Assist in the coordination and support of council recruitment efforts. Advise council leaders and officers on calendar planning, programming support, risk management, governing document review, leadership development, academic support, and interpreting relevant Institutional Rules.- In collaboration with the Associate Director, recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate paraprofessional, student staff workers, and interns on an annual basis.- Use digital tools and technology to advance and grow the promotion of the unit online, regularly craft and initiate tailored communication with assigned constituents, including advisors, alumni/ae, house corporation board members, house directors, inter/national staff members, university colleagues, community members and agencies.- Manage the design and publication of office marketing materials. Create resources related to educational content areas for use by sorority and fraternity members, governing councils, and/or stakeholders.- Serve as a member of the Sorority and Fraternity Life administrative team by participating in campus committees, task forces, campus orientations, resource fairs, requested speaking engagements, and other related administrative and programmatic functions as assigned; promote a safe, fun, and connected community; other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience developing, administering, and implementing programs for college students. Experience advising student groups, in student personnel or student services. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, administration, and external stakeholders. Experience with prevention and risk management concepts and education. Professional demeanor. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills including presentations, written correspondence, and reports. Attention to detail. Membership in a nationally affiliated Greek-lettered organization. _Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate._

Salary Range

$70,000 non-negotiable

Working Conditions- Work continuously in a busy, high student traffic environment with frequent interruptions.- Must be able to maintain punctual and regular attendance.- Working around and with standard office equipment.- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.- Occasional evening or weekend work will be required.
