Position Summary

The Director of Student Life at Concordia University Texas is a 12-month, live-in position responsible for providing programming and student engagement across campus. This role focuses on the equitable development of a diverse student population and creating memorable events and experiences that align with the university's mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement campus-wide events and programs that promote student engagement and connection.
  • Supervise student worker teams and provide training and support for student clubs and organizations.
  • Maintain accurate records of departmental budgets and event tracking.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Student Development to develop departmental goals and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Higher Education or a related field; Master's level preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience working directly with higher education students in campus engagement, student affairs, or related experiences.
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends for events and on-call professional staff coverage.
  • Knowledge of office technologies and standard office procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods.
