**Medical Assistant with Intake Coordinator Experience**

**Job Title: Medical Assistant with Intake Coordinator Experience**

**Summary**: The Medical Assistant with Intake Coordinator Experience is responsible for accurately and completely inputting patient data into the system, verifying patient coverage under Medicare and other insurance programs, and facilitating communication between field staff, referral sources, the marketing department, and other relevant parties on behalf of our patients.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Inform referral sources and necessary departments of new referrals received.
- Promptly and accurately enter initial client data into the database.
- Verify insurance coverage for patients.
- Contact referral sources or primary physicians to request additional documentation or information about clients, as needed.
- Coordinate with visiting nurses to staff clients.
- Confirm demographic information with clients.
- Inform referral sources and clients of tentative appointments and the assigned clinician’s name.
- Verify with the primary physician the most recent office visit and signature of required documentation.
- Refer clients to home visiting physicians if necessary and follow up with calls to confirm services rendered.
- Upload documentation to the client’s chart.
- Confirm completion of admission visits with the field clinician.
- Re-verify and reactivate clients requesting reactivation of services.
- Update demographic and insurance information as needed.
- Answer calls and respond to questions or requests regarding services or client updates.
- Notify referral sources and relevant departments of service refusals.
- Communicate complications related to insurance verification to referral sources and necessary departments.
- Inform referral sources and relevant departments of first appointments scheduled, completed, or missed.
- Maintain agency tracking logs and distribute them to appropriate departments.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
