The District's **Career Education and Workforce Development** (CEWD) Department provides districtwide coordination and support across San Diego City College, Mesa College, Miramar College, and the College of Continuing Education for the advancement of equitable student access, retention, and success within and across the following major areas of work:

- Career Education grants
- Career Education program compliance
- Workforce development initiatives including career services, job placement, employer engagement, and noncredit to credit transitions
- K12 partnership development including early college initiatives
- Early childhood education - _supporting the child development learning laboratory centers at City, Mesa, and Miramar Colleges_

The San Diego Community College District Child Development Centers at City, Mesa, and Miramar Colleges provide high-quality educational infant, toddler, and pre-school programming to community members and provide hands-on work experience for community college child development students.

The Districtwide Childcare Compliance Official will provide support and coordination services across these three centers.
- Management, coordination, and support for districtwide childcare state and federal contracts (CCTR, CSPP, CACFP)
- Supports districtwide partnership for Head Start programming with the Neighborhood House Association (NHA)

This role requires problem solving, involving consideration of diverse and complex procedures and precedents, consistent with current policies and the complexity of CDE and CDSS childcare grant, contract, and program compliance requirements.

**Primary Areas of Responsibility Include**:

- Provide coordination and support services to three college-specific child development learning laboratory Center Directors.
- Provide leadership and management of districtwide annual state contracts for infant/toddler, preschool, and food program (CSPP, CCTR, and CACFP) - compliance and implementation across three Child Development Learning Lab Centers at San Diego City, Mesa, and Miramar Colleges.
- Serve as District Program Director for state contracts
- Serve as primary liaison with assigned state program and fiscal monitors
- Provide monthly supportive, constructive, and improvement-focused auditing
- Provide training and coordination for aligned documents, forms, and practices across three centers
- Coordinate and complete districtwide monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting (including but not limited to: districtwide program self-evaluation, family file audits, family style meal service observations, PLIS, 801A, 9400, 9500, 8501, etc. and internal and external program audits).
- Design and manage (update, coordinate, and modify) Child Development Center state and federal contract implementation guidance and tools including handbooks, procedures, templates, forms, trainings, and resources.
- Conduct and attend meetings, including but not limited to the Districtwide Child Development Center All Deans and Directors Meetings, the Child Development Districtwide Industry Advisory Committee; coordinate regular Districtwide Center Director Meetings; attend Districtwide Child Development Center Staff Meetings.
- Serve as primary liaison between the District and the Neighborhood House Association's Head Start program. Coordination and support for the annual partnership contract, partnership meetings, and integration of head start within local operations.
- Promotion & Advocacy - Child Development Center awareness and early childhood education needs districtwide and regionally.
- Monitor and assist with budget development and management of funds.
