Lonza is looking for a technically oriented, sales professional in the Central or Western US, with experience in automated software solutions for life sciences product manufacturing and quality control to address current and emerging business development and direct sales opportunities for enterprise software and process automation technology solutions in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and medical device industries.

Key Accountabilities and Duties:
  • Work in a fast-paced team environment to meet and exceed an annual sales quota for software licenses and services revenue.
  • Manage and drive the sales process from lead identification through close for an emerging product technology solution focused on electronic data management associated with life sciences product manufacturing and quality control.
  • Update and maintain an opportunities sales funnel via Lonza’s Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) system
  • Prepare and submit to management timely and accurate reports that provide information regarding forecasts, sales and market activity and current status of new product launch.
  • Conducts all activities and keeps personal qualities such as integrity, appearance and sociability in a manner contributory to maintenance of optimum corporate image.
  • Work with a team of people to drive the go to market launch of a next generation informatics platform for electronic data management associated with life sciences product manufacturing.
  • Present our products and solutions in a compelling manner to potential clients and the life science industry on sales calls and industry trade shows
  • Work with the marketing team to develop new ideas and marketing campaigns to attract new customers.
  • Work with the product strategy team to identify critical business issues and develop strategic solutions and new sales opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Work with project delivery team to assist in the management of client projects.
  • Possess the ability to work autonomously from a home-based office as well as contribute to overall team performance.

Minimum Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • B.S. in Life Sciences with emphasis in cell and gene therapy manufacturing, CDMO manufacturing, Biologics manufacturing, or microbiology is preferred.
  • The candidate should have 5+ years of successful customer facing responsibilities in a complex selling environment (multiple decision makers, global teams, etc.).
  • Experience selling informatics, analytics and/or process automation enterprise software platforms to the life science industry.
  • Strong leadership, customer relationship and negotiation skills are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Specific knowledge of cGMP manufacturing processes (Cell and Gene Therapy, Biologics, CDMO, Fill/Finish, Upstream/Downstream) and/or QC Microbiology processes
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience selling MES, EBR or LIMS solutions strongly preferred.

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the location of the successful candidate, qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job-related knowledge.
