Johnson Controls International PLC ("JCI") is seeking an equipment finance loan originator for JC Capital, the JCI captive finance company.
About JC Capital:
As a division of the JCI corporate treasury department, JC Capital finances approximately $1 billion each year for JCI customers to drive commercial sales of building infrastructure and services across 12 countries. The company is responsible for balancing risk and return by offering payment terms that drive sales while managing the proper amount of credit exposure.
About the Role:
The employee will be responsible for originating, negotiating, and closing loans and leases with JCI commercial customers in the North America market. Most equipment loans and leases are asset-based transactions secured by UCC-1 liens. The originator will train and partner with JCI salespeople to enable them to secure more orders. In addition, the person will collaborate with the JC Capital operations and back-office teams for order to cash, reporting, and loan modifications. The person will be responsible for building relationships with sales teams, gathering project and customer credit information, financial modeling, creating finance proposals, and closing finance transactions. Must be willing to work across all time zones in the U.S. and Canada.
The applicant should have initiative to help drive business with limited resources and within tight time constraints. The person should possess technical finance skills, knowledge of lending practices, a strong work ethic, and outgoing social and communication skills. Part of the role is to explain complex finance topics to people who don't have the same expertise in equipment finance.
This will be a hybrid role located at our HQ in Glendale, WI. Candidate will be onsite 2-3 days a week and there will be potential travel 1-2 days per month to meet with customers and salespeople.
Applicant Background:
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of three (3) years of loan originations.
Experience with credit policies and credit adjudication scoring from rating agencies.
Experience with loan documentation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
