Sodexo is seeking a Conference Services Manager for a corporate services client in Stockton, CA. This position supports this progressive organization by providing leadership for our Facilities teams in the delivery of concierge and innovative services to our customers.

 

Job Summary:

 

The Event Planner will work closely with clients to book and coordinate services for meetings and events in the client facility.  They will coordinate services for the Conference, Catering, Audiovisual and Facilities departments for the successful execution of daily meetings and events. This individual provides oversight at the direction of management on site to coordinate routine work activities of the events department. Ideal candidate will have experience working in the above-mentioned departments.  Knowledge of catering, room and event management systems required.  Experience in large scale, multi-day event production preferred. This position requires a candidate that will constantly strive to foster a culture of hospitality and find new and innovative methods to enhance the client meeting and event experience. 
 
 
Key Duties:

  • Coordinates meeting and events
  • Manages customer budgets to meet client needs.
  • Provides excellent customer service and works with customers to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service and problem resolution.
  • Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day activities of Event Services team and assigns responsibility for specific work or functional activities as directed by on-site management.
  • Responsible for orientation and training of employees.
  • Performs day-to-day assignments in addition to oversight duties.
  • Must have basic audiovisual knowledge to support meetings and large conferences.
  • Must be computer literate and have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access) applications and event/catering management software
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sales/revenue management and reporting critical job duty
  • Supervision of staff/directing team
  • Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Plans, organizes, staffs, and directs multiple services which generally include:
    • conference services, conference planning, catering, banquets and basic food and beverage
    • hospitality, front desk, housekeeping
    • audiovisual technology, accounting and finance, human resources, sales and marketing

 

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Corporate meeting planning experience
  • Advanced Proficiency in Cvent, Zoom, Teams and Outlook Technology
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 25 Lb boxes and be able to be on your feet for long periods of time
