Unit Description:

Sodexo has an opening for a Senior Manager, Accounting in Government Services with the United States Marine Corps located in Oceanside, CA.  This position will have direct financial oversight of 48 different US Marine Corps Mess Halls located on the East and West Coast.  Looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented manager with 5-7 years of general ledger accounting experience.  The Ideal candidate will be an individual that has strong bookkeeping and record keeping background and be able to demonstrate both analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

 

Also, we are seeking an individual with Advanced or above average MS Excel capabilities which include, creation of Excel macros, building pivot tables, utilizing advanced excel formulas such as Filter, Xlookup and index/Match. Also, PowerBi knoweledge will be helpful.   

 

The successful candidate:

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting for the prestigious USMC contract
  • Manage the weekly and monthly close process, including month-end journal entries, accounts payable and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage the client billing process
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Provide financial coaching and support to Operations Team

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently is crucial which also includes managing a remote team. 
  • 5-7 years of general ledger accounting experience
  • previous supervisory experience

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 5 years
