Job Title: Financial Coordinator

Location: Boston MA 02115  (Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week)
Work Schedule: 35 hours/week
Pay Rate: $38/hr
Duration: 2 month contract

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and well-organized Financial Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, you will coordinate and execute the student funding process for 750+ PhD students in the Division of Medical Sciences. This role requires strong customer service, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage stipend and tuition payments for 750+ PhD students.
  • Coordinate with students, faculty, and department financial contacts on financial obligations.
  • Update and maintain student funding data in FileMaker.
  • Serve as the primary contact for student funding inquiries.
  • Advise on financial support issues and collaborate with various University and Medical School administrative offices.
  • Ensure compliance with funding practices and policies.
  • Assist with running financial reports and perform other ad hoc tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in accounting or 3 to 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • College degree preferred or equivalent education and experience.
  • High organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet software required.
  • Experience with financial systems and payroll processing is a plus.
  • Experience in higher education is preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and prioritize tasks effectively.
