Our client is seeking Lab Technician, Hardware 3 to join their team. The main function of a "Lab Technician, Hardware 3" is to support the testing and development of computer-related equipment for datacenter applications.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience
1. Minimum 5-7years experience with VNA Measurement experience
2. Minimum 5-7 years’ experience with Hardware/Data Center Experience
3. Minimum 5-7 years’ experience with Ability to assemble hardware and solder hardware
Job Responsibilities:
• Execute tests on data center compute and cooling hardware.
• Assemble and modify existing pieces of equipment to meet special needs.
• Build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
• Monitor functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
• Confer with engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
• Provide training and support to system designers and users.
Basic Skills:
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Team player and detail oriented.
• Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
Technical Skills:
• Experience working with datacenter computer hardware - such as servers, network switches, power delivery units, etc.
• Experience executing and modifying scripts for computer hardware testing, including scripting tools such as Python, CLI, SSH, Redfish, Postman, etc.
• Experience working with UNIX or Linux based operating systems.
• Experience reworking computer circuit boards - i.e. soldering components onto printed circuit boards.
• Experience with electronics test equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power supplies, DVMs, emulators, etc.
• Experience with server cooling equipment, including air cooling, liquid cooling, and immersion cooling.
Education/Experience:
• Two or four year technical degree preferred.
• 5-7 years of industry experience required.
