Position Title: Lab Technician, Hardware 3
Position Description: Protingent has an exciting contract opportunity for a Lab Technician, Hardware 3 with our client located in Redmond, WA (Onsite).
Job Responsibilities:
- The main function of a "Lab Technician, Hardware 3" is to support the testing and development of computer-related equipment for data center applications.
- This role provides the opportunity to work on a team that isn't stressful and pretty good skill-building in terms of learning a lot and gaining marketable skills.
- Unique Selling Points: Fun team culture, Team's chats are used to stay in touch and keep together since some of the other team is remote. People on-site get to go out to group lunches and pretty easy-going.
- Execute tests on data center compute and cooling hardware.
- Assemble and modify existing pieces of equipment to meet special needs.
- Build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
- Monitor functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
- Confer with engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
- Provide training and support to system designers and users.

- This role will contribute to Cloud hardware lab work.
- Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:
- The role will consist of execute Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) measurements on test boards and engineering validation boards for the validation of interconnect performance, assemble systems or test fixtures as needed to prepare for measurements, add instrumentation to devices/boards under test to enable high precision measurements and some soldering may be necessary to prepare boards for measurement.

- Must Have 5-7 years experience with VNA Measurement experience
- Must Have 5-7 years’ experience with Hardware/Data Center Experience
- Must Have 5-7 years’ experience with Ability to assemble hardware and solder hardware
- 5-7 years of industry experience required.
- No degree is required to be eligible for this role. Most of the skills are acquired through the job training if the candidate did have a technical degree in electronics would be a plus. However, Two- or four-year technical degree preferred.
- The ideal resume would contain Execute Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) measurements on test boards and engineering validation boards for the validation of interconnect performance experience then they would be the preferred candidate. Either at client or a similar company to client, and Data center/Hardware Experience.
- Experience working with datacenter computer hardware - such as servers, network switches, power delivery units, etc.
- Experience executing and modifying scripts for computer hardware testing, including scripting tools such as Python, CLI, SSH, Redfish, Postman, etc.
- Experience working with UNIX or Linux based operating systems.
- Experience reworking computer circuit boards - i.e. soldering components onto printed circuit boards.
- Experience with electronics test equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power supplies, DVMs, emulators, etc.
- Experience with server cooling equipment, including air cooling, liquid cooling, and immersion cooling.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Job Type: Contract
- Location: Redmond, WA (Onsite).
- Pay Range: $52/hr. to $67/hr.
