Hardware Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Hardware Technician to join our team at Actalent. As a Hardware Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining critical lab tests and equipment, performing regular maintenance on lab hardware, and troubleshooting and repairing lab equipment and hardware when issues are identified.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular maintenance on lab equipment and hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and repair lab equipment and hardware when issues are identified.
  • Assist in test automation execution when necessary and communicate results to engineering/development stakeholders.
  • Maintain logs and records of maintenance performed in lab.
  • Keep inventory of lab equipment up to date.
  • Ensure the lab is clean and free of debris.
  • Create, update and maintain technical documentation of lab efforts.
Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in proximity with others.
  • Agility and ability to adapt to shifting work requests and priorities.
  • Self-motivated and driven, able to identify tasks and execute with little prompting.
  • Experience as a technician in a test environment is desired.
  • Soldering skills (SMD) are a plus.
  • Experience with Windows client/server operating systems and image deployment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Able to read, work with and create schematics and/or technical diagrams.
  • Strong organizational skills.
