Oversee operations in primary and secondary machining, chemical processing for cleaning and plating production components, and material handling.
Possess a working knowledge of machine set-ups, machining, chemical processing for cleaning and plating, material handling, quality programs, safety programs, and managing resources.
Understand production planning concepts.
Drive positive change in all aspects of department operations using continuous improvement tools and methodologies, teamwork, and shop floor metrics, including quality, cost, delivery, safety, and housekeeping.
Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Plan, assign, and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints, and resolve problems.
Utilize all available resources to meet delivery dates and quality standards.
Oversee, manage, and schedule personnel and activities in respective areas of responsibility.
Implement and monitor productivity improvements such as cycle time improvements and cost-cutting measures.
Ensure all safety procedures and rules are followed and all safety issues are resolved.
Work extra hours as required to complete tasks and meet requirements and delivery dates.
Initiate and follow through on action items to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
Coordinate manpower requirements to meet changing conditions.
Oversee proper procedures of shop orders, in-house inspections, operator inspections, non-conformance issues, and disposition of material and scrap.
Verify that all methods of operation and ISO procedures are updated, followed, and effective training programs are maintained and documented.
Demonstrate strong leadership by leading by example.
Ensure that preventative maintenance is performed and documented according to released methods 100% of the time.
Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Recruit, train, and coach employees.

What You'll Need:
Ten years of manufacturing experience in operations, including machining, industrial assembly, chemical processing for cleaning and plating production components, and material handling activities.
Five years of experience with the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
Associate degree in Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration desired, or relevant industry and job experience.
Ability to effectively communicate with machinists and plant management.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Ability to measure and gauge parts using industry-standard tools such as micrometers, plug and thread gauges.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to take machining operations to a world-class level.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
Ability to perform basic math skills in all units of measure.
Ability to compute percentages and interpret graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to generate production-related reports.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Working knowledge of ADP is a plus.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
