Job Description

Position Overview:

The CNC Machining Specialist is responsible for the setup and calibration of various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to ensure optimal performance for production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize shop documentation effectively, including manufacturing orders, bills of materials, and quality alerts.
  • Ensure all tools and gauges are within calibration standards before use.
  • Simultaneously operate multiple machines as dictated by production requirements.
  • Identify and rework non-conforming components as necessary.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions to management.
  • Meet efficiency and productivity targets consistently.
  • Produce components that meet established quality benchmarks and alert supervisors to any discrepancies.
  • Engage in scheduled SQCD Board meetings.
  • Conduct quality inspections in accordance with established procedures.
  • Request necessary raw materials promptly to maintain production flow and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Develop proficiency in multiple skills across various production cells as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S principles.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance in accordance with established methods.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills are preferred.
  • Proficient in the safe operation and setup of diverse production machinery.
  • Ability to interpret simple instructions, correspondence, and technical drawings.
  • Capable of composing basic correspondence and completing quality documentation.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations with whole numbers and fractions.
  • Skilled in using measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
