The VP, Education & Training oversees and directs NENA’s educational offerings including the development, and delivery of in-person courses, webinars, and online training. The incumbent is responsible for identifying industry trends and future educational needs. This position oversees NENA’s contract instructors, as well as two full-time staff positions. 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a vision and plan for the future of NENA’s education and training programs.
  • Manage 200+ courses per year and coordinates ~30 instructors who are in the field doing online and in-person course delivery.
  • Evaluate current processes, courses, platforms, etc. Identify ways to improve and implement educational products and processes. Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of courses and other offerings.
  • Oversee and manage the education budget and expenditures.
  • Oversee the management and updating of course content, working with stakeholders to ensure course content is relevant and accurate. 
  • Outreach to members and non-members to educate them on NENA training offerings.
  • Responsible for project management of outside contracts.. 
  • Collaborate with the Training Coordinator and Education Instructor to manage scheduling and
  • identify resources on all education requests.             
  • Leverage tools for better efficiency in training.
  • Oversee operation of, and development of content for, Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Work in tandem with the volunteer-driven Education Advisory Board to ensure the program is current and following industry trends. 
  • Identify external resources, including qualified contract instructors
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 
Provide leadership, direct supervision, and support to NENA. Staff positions that report to the VP, Education & Training include:

  • Training Coordinator 
  • Course Manager and Instructor
  • ~30 contractor instructors

Location, Pay, and Benefits
NENA is headquartered in Alexandria, VA. The incumbent may work in-person at NENA’s headquarters or remotely. Relocation expenses will not be paid.

Job responsibilities are “full time” and will be compensated on an annual salary basis with twice-monthly pay to be determined by the CEO based on the selected applicant’s qualifications and experience. This position is eligible for standard benefits that include vacation, sick leave, and eligibility to participate in the Association’s retirement plan.
