Summary

The Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and related disabilities and their families through awareness, education, information, programs, services, and the exchange of ideas and experiences.

We have an immediate opening for a Community Day Program Manager in South Central Wisconsin. The Community Day Program Manager will oversee the uniformity and standardization, replicability, compliance, staff, training, resources and business development of DSAWs Community Day Programs Department across SC WI. The CDP Manager will expand DSAWs site-based, HCBS group programming to individuals in South Central Wisconsin by providing local oversight and coordination, as well as providing direct services themselves.

The CDP Manager will play an important role in all aspects of program oversight including fidelity of programs, marketing programs to families, participants and community partners, expansion of DSAWs community programming footprint in SC WI and waitlist oversight. The CDP Manager will be the regions senior manager responsible for the interviewing, hiring, direct supervision and ongoing training of CDP staff across South Central Wisconsin.

On the participant side, this includes an active role in the participant life cycle including: meeting with new participants to complete a full intake, working with the individual and their family to create goals and plans, enrolling in programs, providing programming services, and ensuring ongoing quality of services. We are looking for someone who has significant experience working with individuals with disabilities. This person should have excellent organization and prioritization skills in order to assist with case management, program fidelity and program planning and scheduling. The CDP Manager must be a skilled communicator, empathetic listener, and excellent problem-solver, with the ability to help participants and their families put plans in place to achieve their desired goals.

In order to complete this job well, the CDP Manager must be very comfortable with technology, and have the ability to quickly learn new systems. The CDP Manager should have a thorough understanding of MS Office/G Suite products. Experience with a participant management system such as Salesforce and a time tracking/scheduling system is a plus.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Staff Management

Oversee the uniformity and standardization, replicability, compliance, staff, training, resources and business development of DSAWs Community Day Programs Department across SC WI.

Senior manager responsible for the interviewing, hiring, direct supervision and ongoing training of CDP staff across South Central Wisconsin.

Directly supervise CDP staff, including providing feedback and completing annual performance reviews.

Supervise ongoing service provision through weekly, monthly, quarterly and semi-annual check-ins staffings, 360 reviews, family engagement surveys, semi-annual planning meetings.

Manage staff scheduling.

Review and analyze time sheets.

Regional Sustainability and Growth

Build and maintain regional fiscal sustainability across DSAWs current and future sites in South Central Wisconsin.

Balance staffing needs with current and potential billing, oversight and management of regional budget. Track expenditures. Set financial goals. Track billing, participant authorizations, balances and expiration dates.

Work with the Assistant Director of Community Day Programs and Director of Programs to meet monthly, quarterly and annual goals for the region.

Help grow services through activities such as personal phone calls, attending relevant DSAW and community events, outreach to funders, etc.

Participant Case Management

Complete the initial consult, intake, and assessment for new participants.

Oversee participant goal setting.

Actively maintain the regions site-based caseload through regular oversight and monitoring of DSAWs case management system with updated goals, reports, and records.

Assign and schedule participant(s) to staff member(s) with appropriate training and hand-offs.

Provide regular check-ins with the participant and their family.

Serves as a member of the wraparound team for participants and their families.

Direct Services Provision

Direct instruction responsibilities in DSAWs SC WI sites, especially to cover vacations, absences, substitutions.

Work as a team to develop, implement and evaluate replicable curriculum to support participant skill acquisition.

Maintain and model positive professional working relationships and boundaries with participants, guardians, employers, and other significant persons in their lives.

Advocate for participants as needed and teach advocacy skills.

Attend required meetings and in-service training sessions.

Monitor participants goals and complete progress notes.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related field.

5+ years working with families and participants with developmental disabilities.

Program development is highly desirable.

Supervisory experience is required.

Applicants must have a valid drivers license and insured vehicle.

Applicants must pass a caregiver background check that meets State of Wisconsin requirements.

Compensation

This is a salaried position with compensation based on experience. Bilingual applicants are highly encouraged to apply.
