PRODUCT ENGINEER

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The responsibilities listed here for this position are not all inclusive. Responsibilities vary by customer and scope of the projects being managed. One of the most important aspects of this position is to continuously monitor the quality of work with respect to exceeding the customer’s expectations. A working knowledge of quality assessment programs is imperative as well as the ability to travel domestically and internationally as required to fulfill the requirements of the job.

Provide/coordinate the response to the requests for quotation for all new tool and engineering changes; document customer design requirements and initiate RFQ's/ICR’s to SCREEN factories new features. Drive activities toward becoming emerging commercial opportunities by manipulating acquired knowledge of the customer’s User Model. Work closely with the account manager to insure all facets of the customer’s expectations are met.
Provide response/approval/review and tracking of change requests for existing equipment. Provide factory engineering and local service group with preferred scope of the modification meeting customer’s application need.
Develop OEM specifications as required to meet customer requirements & provide ongoing OEM management.
Lead cross-functional teams to insure a successful CIP Program through meeting the needs of the customer and meeting the financial goals of the company
Maintain library of closed specifications for each tool by customer; maintain strong system configuration control and manage customer relationship for assigned products providing routine updates in a User forum.
Responsible for ensuring success on a variety of development support activities including; chair regular customer User Group meetings, coordinate Factory demos, liaise with Factory Engineering, and actively demonstrate in-depth knowledge of all product capabilities from modular level, down to detailed component specification level.
Develop good familiarity with SCREEN & customer internal business practices.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and direct the activities of multi-functional teams required to support and achieve customer goals. The successful candidate will possess the ability to perform root cause analysis and reporting using industry related methodology.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: At least a BS in EE, ME, ChemE, Materials Science, Physics, or Chemistry from an accredited institution. Some formal training in business with emphasis on sales and marketing of capital goods is a plus. Evaluation of a combination of formal education in other (BS and/or post graduate level work) disciplines and directly related experience may be made in lieu to the stated requirements.
