Position Summary:

The Sr. Director/Vice President of Commercial Product will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction, development, and performance of Medscape's commercial product portfolio, which is focused on digital advertising and media solutions. This leadership position demands a visionary approach to product management; a deep understanding of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors; and how digital advertising and media solutions are evaluated for performance/marketing effectiveness by manufacturers and agencies. The successful candidate will lead a dynamic team and work collaboratively across departments to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and support the company's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial product strategy that aligns with Medscape's business goals and market demands. Identify and prioritize product opportunities to enhance value for healthcare professionals and pharmaceutical clients.
  2. Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, including ideation, development, launch, and post-launch evaluation. Drive the creation of innovative, market-leading products and services that support client engagement and revenue growth.
  3. Market Insight: Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape. Leverage market research and user feedback to inform product decisions and ensure a competitive edge.
  4. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of product managers and developers. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the product team.
  5. Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key pharmaceutical clients and healthcare professionals. Understand their needs and challenges to deliver solutions that exceed expectations and drive successful customer outcomes.
  6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, technology, and other internal teams to ensure seamless product development and delivery. Drive alignment on product vision and execution across the organization.
  7. Innovation and Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve existing products and processes. Champion a culture of innovation and agile methodologies to rapidly respond to market changes and client needs.
Qualifications:
  1. 10+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or marketing technology sectors.
  2. Digital advertising and media experience in support of pharmaceutical products.
  3. Understanding of key performance indicators generally accepted by pharmaceutical manufacturers; how those KPIs may evolve; and a focus on developing products that meet/exceed those evolving KPIs from manufacturers and agencies.
  4. Product management experience for self-service platform workflows and in advertising technology (DSP, DMP, SSP, exchange, ad server, etc.) required.
  5. Proven track record of successfully leading product teams and delivering commercial products that drive business growth.
  6. Strong understanding of the healthcare industry, including regulatory requirements, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
  7. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.
  8. Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies.
  9. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
  10. Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
