Education Community Outreach Director

Position Purpose The Education Community Outreach Director is a valuable member of the Education Team providing both coaching and mentoring services to the center-based classroom education teams, as well as serving as a liaison between Child Inc and the overall community. The education community outreach elements of this liaison position will consist of establishing and maintaining a focus on enhancing and improving Child Inc education services by raising community awareness of existing services, reinforcing within the community the agency’s brand identity, nurturing community goodwill, gaining meaningful resources through increased community partnerships, and fulfilling the agency’s mission and vision while supporting the mission of established community partners. The coaching elements of this liaison position consist of assisting members of the Education Services Team in developing and updating classroom programs & procedures for the instructional outcomes, curriculum implementation, child assessment, and cultural and linguistic responsiveness. The Education Community Outreach Director will provide training, mentor coaching, overall support, and follow-up to identified teaching staff on a regular basis; provide the direction needed to successfully teach and implement the assigned curriculum and practices which promote high-quality learning and school readiness within established guidelines and standards. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies, or related field with completed coursework that would equate to a major in early childhood education; At least three (3) years teaching experience with increasing levels of responsibility and demonstrated leadership traits as a Lead Teacher; Demonstrated knowledge in best practices in early childhood education; understanding of early childhood evaluations, observations, and assessments for both teachers and children; Experience with mentoring and training early childhood practitioners preferred; Educational experience and training in Early Brain Development, Responsive Caregiving, and/or Reflective Supervision preferred; Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications as needed; Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; Must be a certified CLASS observer and/or willingness to be trained; Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with diverse populations both in the community and administrative staff; Must pass all criminal history background checks.
