JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to fulfill the STEM/STEAM Director Role. As a key leader within our organization, you will drive the strategic direction of our youth-led technology initiatives and STEM programs for TK-8 th grade across 6 sites. This position involves overseeing program development, staff leadership, strategic planning, community engagement, and administrative responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Leadership and Management:
Design and implement inclusive and captivating STEM/STEAM initiatives tailored for K-8 students spanning six distinct sites, in harmony with the organization's mission and objectives.
Plan and deliver exciting technology and STEM activities that align with program goals.
Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all Computer Clubhouse programs and STEM/STEAM activities.
Provide leadership and guidance to program staff, ensuring high-quality program delivery and adherence to best practices.
Monitor program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions to optimize impact and outcomes.
Maintain connections and serve as a liaison with the national Computer Clubhouse Network, actively participating in Network related programs.
Collect, maintain, catalog, and analyze records about program implementation and impact.
Actively recruit Club members for daily STEM activities, ensuring inclusivity and participation.
Utilize Club technology resources effectively to enhance learning experiences.
Ensure a clean and safe environment for all STEM program participants.
Strategic Planning and Development:
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term strategic plans for the Computer Clubhouse programs and STEM initiatives, including expansion opportunities and innovative programmatic initiatives.
Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with local organizations, schools, and technology companies to enhance program offerings and resources.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in youth development and technology education, incorporating relevant advancements into program design and delivery.
Community Engagement and Advocacy:
Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for STEM programs within the community, promoting awareness and understanding of our mission and impact.
Maintain partnerships with local STEM organizations to enhance program offerings and resources, including Sonoma Valley Unified School District.
Engage with parents, caregivers, and community stakeholders to solicit feedback, address concerns, and build support for STEM initiatives.
Participate in relevant community forums, task forces, and coalitions to advance STEM education initiatives.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Complete program reports and documentation to track program effectiveness and impact.
Advertise STEM programs through various channels to attract participants and volunteers.
Manage program supplies and budget effectively, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and reporting procedures, including incident reporting.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
Experience working with K-8 students in a STEM-related capacity.
Knowledge of youth development principles, technology education, and STEM fields.
Strong organizational and leadership skills; ability to plan, organize and manage complex initiatives.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build strategic partnerships.
Familiar with data analysis, record keeping and reporting.
Ability to deescalate crisis situations in an effective manner.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, basic graphics programs such as Publisher, Print Shop, Adobe Suite, and skilled in Web Design and Desktop Publishing.
Knowledge of recording studio software and operating systems.
Ability to solve complex problems.
Ability to plan and execute complex projects.
Complete and pass mandated reporter training.
Ability to pass a DOJ & FBI fingerprint clearance.
Ability to be CPR and First Aid certified.
Ability to lift or carry items up to 40 lbs.
Ability to pass the Sonoma Valley Unified School Districts Instructional Aide test with at least 70%.
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of three years in technology.
Boys & Girls Club Movement experience is preferred.
Bilingual.
