Marcum LLP is seeking an experienced Tax Senior Manager to join our growing and well-established national firm in our Greenwich office. The position requires a high-energy, experienced professional, with strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and help drive the success of multiple engagements in all facets of taxation.
  2. Manage utilization and realization of self and staff.
  3. Assume full responsibility for larger, more complicated tax returns and delegate to the various staff as deemed necessary.
  4. Research tax issues and filing requirements that affect tax compliance.
  5. Research complex tax issues and perform tax structuring and modeling.
  6. Communicate to the appropriate firm personnel important tax developments affecting the firm's clients.
  7. Act as a resource for tax staff on specific tax issues and/or questions.
  8. Perform initial review of complex tax returns for high net-worth individual, corporate and partnership/LLC clients.
  9. Serve as engagement lead on specific client accounts, taking responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution and final deliverable development.
  10. Interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting and compliance services in a timely and effective manner.
  11. Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing expectations, meeting deadlines and proactively sharing tax saving strategies.
  12. Work directly with Partners/Directors and clients to ensure tax and accounting engagements are completed in an accurate and timely manner and to develop practical and effective tax strategies for clients.
  13. Maintain general knowledge of economic and political trends of possible tax or other legislation that could affect the business climate.
  14. Make effective use of firm resources to complete a project and manage multiple client projects.
  15. Supervise, develop, train and mentor staff including performance and engagement reviews.
  16. Develop a professional relationship with the client and serve as the main point-of-contact to the client and ensure that the client is fully informed of engagement progress.
  17. Work on multi-disciplinary teams and have direct contact with clients and targets to identify issues and opportunities, formulate a value proposition, and secure engagements.
  18. Look to develop new business opportunities.
  19. Attend professional development and continuing education sessions on a regular basis.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree with a major in accounting required.
  2. Masters in Taxation degree a plus.
  3. CPA Certification required.
  4. 7+ years tax experience required in a CPA firm setting.
  5. Strong technical skills pertaining to tax preparation and review, tax compliance, agency correspondence and tax research.
  6. Ability to problem-solve and think both creatively and logically.
  7. A demonstrated ability to self-direct and effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlines.
  8. Outstanding leadership, mentoring and interpersonal skills fostering client and staff relationships.
  9. Excellent analytical, organization, and written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Ability to attract and develop profitable, sustainable client relationships.
  11. This is not a remote position. Required to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
