Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and drive the success of various engagements across all aspects of taxation.
  • Manage utilization and realization metrics for yourself and your team.
  • Take full ownership of complex tax returns and delegate tasks to staff as necessary.
  • Investigate tax issues and filing requirements impacting tax compliance.
  • Analyze intricate tax matters and conduct tax structuring and modeling.
  • Inform relevant firm personnel about significant tax developments affecting clients.
  • Serve as a resource for tax staff regarding specific tax queries.
  • Conduct initial reviews of complex tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and partnerships/LLCs.
  • Lead engagements for specific client accounts, managing pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverables.
  • Engage closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance services effectively and promptly.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through transparent communication, managing expectations, meeting deadlines, and proactively sharing tax-saving strategies.
  • Collaborate directly with Partners/Directors and clients to ensure tax and accounting engagements are completed accurately and timely, developing practical and effective tax strategies.
  • Maintain a general awareness of economic and political trends that may influence tax legislation and the business environment.
  • Utilize firm resources effectively to complete projects and manage multiple client engagements.
  • Supervise, develop, train, and mentor staff, including conducting performance and engagement reviews.
  • Establish a professional rapport with clients, serving as the primary point of contact and keeping them informed of engagement progress.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams, engaging directly with clients to identify issues and opportunities, formulate value propositions, and secure engagements.
  • Seek to develop new business opportunities.
  • Attend professional development and continuing education sessions regularly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting is required.
  • A Master's in Taxation is advantageous.
  • CPA Certification is mandatory.
  • 7+ years of tax experience in a CPA firm environment is essential.
  • Strong technical expertise in tax preparation, review, compliance, agency correspondence, and research.
  • Ability to think creatively and logically to solve problems.
  • Proven ability to self-direct and effectively organize, prioritize, and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills to foster client and staff relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to attract and cultivate profitable, sustainable client relationships.
  • This position requires in-office presence a minimum of three days per week.
