Responsibilities

AscensionSeton is looking for a APRN or PA for our Maternal Fetal Medicine department

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to provide clinical assessment, examination, and treatment for women in need of Maternal Fetal Medicine services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination
  • Provide quality care and conduct diagnostic testing in accordance with evidence-based clinical
    guidelines
  • Interpret antenatal testing (e.g. non-stress tests)
  • Participate in ongoing quality assurance audits and provide real-time feedback to improve
    patient care
  • Work collaboratively with a team of physicians, associate providers and other stakeholders to
    provide comprehensive clinical care
  • Ensure continuous flow of communication with leadership of clinic to enhance quality of
    healthcare services to patients
  • Provide patient navigation to provide seamless care coordination between inpatient and
    outpatient settings
  • Participate in the education of medical students, OB/GYN residents, and fellows
  • Support and participate in research initiatives within the division
Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
  • Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.

Education:

  • Master's degree of Nursing required.
Additional Preferences
  • Doctoral degree in nursing science or equivalent degree
  • five years of experience providing obstetrical care
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
