Business Development Support Specialist


Tyton Partners is seeking a talented, team-oriented Business Development Support Specialist to join our Marketing and Business Development team for our strategy consulting practice The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a “go-getter” mentality. As a Business Development Support Specialist your objective will be to support in expanding Tyton Partners’ client base across five specific segments of the education market (K-12, higher education, corporate learning/ workforce development, PE, impact investors/ philanthropy). You will specifically be focused on helping develop greenfield opportunities for consulting practice, including researching, prospecting, and helping devise the best approach to execute customized and meaningful engagement.


You will be a core member of the small but growing Marketing and Business Development team and work closely with senior business development executives, who will serve as mentors and help guide strategy and tactical execution of various business development initiatives. You will partner with the Tyton Partners’ business development teams to support efforts to expand business across the global education sector, including launching targeted campaigns, CRM management and audience segmentation, identifying outreach strategies, engaging in communication, and follow-up.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and identify potential companies, contacts, and leads for strategy consulting opportunities
  • Research and understand various lines of business and buyer personas
  • Support in vetting and qualifying inbound and outbound leads
  • Support senior team members prepare for pitches, including building new business presentations, and researching prospects
  • Partner with consulting team members to implement focused outbound campaigns leveraging the firm’s content marketing and thought leadership
  • Support managing the Tyton Partners’ CRM database (HubSpot), with a particular focus on data integrity and quality
  • Assist in the development of sales and marketing collateral including pitch decks, new business presentations, and statements of work
  • Book key business development meetings with the firm’s senior executives
  • Stay up to date about Tyton Partners active and past projects and capabilities
  • Be committed and curious to stay current with the evolving U.S. education sector across K-12, postsecondary and corporate learning/ workforce development sectors
  • Contribute to enhancing Marketing and Business Development team initiatives


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1-3 years of sales support or sales enablement experience
  • Strong and demonstrated interest in the education sector
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, including staff at remote locations
  • Natural orientation towards being proactive and results-oriented
  • High level of integrity and dependability
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and requests
  • Team-oriented and promotes and coordinates collaboration


Nice-to-haves:

  • Proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) software; ideally HubSpot
  • Experience working at a professional services firm; particularly within strategy consulting
  • Knowledge/experience of the education sector
  • Experience working cross-functionally with varying levels of leadership within an organization or company
