Her Workplace is seeking a part-time Community Manager in San Francisco, CA to support the growth of our community along with leading and coordinating all of our in-person community engagement programming and in-person events. 


Her Workplace is a career network for the next generation of women and non-binary leaders to share stories, exchange knowledge, and build relationships. This is an opportunity to join our growing start-up and support our mission of building an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive community. 


Additionally, you will be working closely with our SF Community Engagement Committee, which is a select group of volunteer members who facilitate the planning and execution of our in-person events. 


Responsibilities:

  • Spend a minimum of (1) day per week at our Community Place to host and engage members for coffee chats and/or lunch breaks facilitating conversation, collaboration, and networking. 
  • Work alongside the SF Community Engagement Committee and Founder & CEO in the planning and execution of our in-person programming and events.
  • Provide day-of operational and administrative support for all in-person events including the set-up, check-in, and breakdown of all in-person events (we typically host (1) event per week).
  • Manage sales process and acquisition of new members in SF.
  • Engage with current members ensuring retention remains strong.
  • Host (1) virtual new member onboarding session per month.
  • Produce videos and photos during all in-person events. 
  • Build and manage relationships with event partners and sponsors.
  • Act as a dedicated brand ambassador, promoting and embodying the mission and values of Her Workplace.


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in event planning, hospitality, sales, and/or community building and engagement 
  • Passion for community building, networking, and bringing people together 
  • “Customer first” mindset and must love interacting with customers
  • Friendly, compassionate, and professional
  • Highly collaborative and able to work effectively
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and a multi-tasker
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing is a bonus
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week (combination of virtual and in-person)
