Job summary: Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control (QC) Technician to join our team. The QC Technician will be responsible for verifying the quality and integrity of the Project infrastructure, materials, welding, coating, or other contractually required disciplines. Reviews documentation for materials, as applicable, to verify that materials meet specified requirements. Conducts surveillance, audits and inspections throughout project as directed by the Project QC Lead and/or Quality Field Manager.

  • Maintain cooperative, professional, constructive, and helpful relationships with Project Management, Construction and Client Representative Teams.
  • Early detection and reporting of nonconformance.
  • Good reporting to detail of what was looked at and disposition of what you looked at.
  • Highest level of professionalism and integrity
  • On the jobsite regularly.
  • Troubleshooting and recommendation for fixes
  • Transparency with Client on business that is not Troy proprietary.
  • Reporting in accordance with the chain of command
  • Ethical and Professional Behavior

 

Specific Project assigned responsibilities may include some, all and or other tasks as directed by Project QC Lead or Quality Field Manager:

  • Weld Mapping
  • Overall Weld Quality Monitoring and Reporting of Welding Activities
  • Audit of Welding Activities
  • Dimensional Inspection of Piping and Structural Assemblies
  • Daily reporting of QC activities performed.
  • Hydro Testing
  • Materials receiving inspection.
  • Materials documentation review and submittal
  • Verify proper storage, care and preventive maintenance of project materials and equipment.
  • Heat Number tracking and traceability.
  • Serial number tracking and traceability for instruments and equipment.
  • Verify (by monitoring, audit, or inspection) correct coating and painting equipment are used and are in good working order.
  • Daily monitoring, audit and/or inspection of paint and coating operations to ensure conformance to project specifications and requirements.Verify concrete pours are in conformance with specified requirements.
  • Verify materials of construction for structural assemblies meet specified requirements.
  • Coordinate and participate in inspection walk downs and turnover activities.


Education:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience as a Quality Control Technician or Inspector in the discipline for which QC tasks are assigned is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Construction Industry is preferred.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.
  • Able to read and comprehend Isometric, Orthographic, Mechanical and P&ID drawings.
  • Experience working with others in an inspection or QC role.
  • Detailed knowledge of applicable regulatory codes and standards associated with the inspections and QC tasks assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk or hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Ability to move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, distant, color, peripheral, depth, and ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment

Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration.

  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
