Key Outcomes:
- Partner with VP Marketing on our global marketing and communications strategy
- Lead Communications teams in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina to implement the global strategy in each market across owned and earned media
- Optimize for market-specific opportunities and localize based on cultural differences
- Demonstrate measurable improvement in desired brand perception
- Contribute to growth in platform activity and revenue
The most important core competencies for the role are:
- Strong background in marketing, communications, and brand management
- Track record of success developing and executing multi-channel campaigns powered by creative storytelling that drive perception change and inspire action from key audience
- Notable experience leveraging organic social media and influencer relationships for business impact
- Experience leading a corporate communications program, including crisis management
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and performance manage a team
- Professional level Spanish language fluency
Target experience:
- 10+ years experience in Marketing Communications
- 3+ years experience leading Marketing Communications Teams
- Extensive experience in the US and also has experience working in LatAm
- Experience working for a user-generated platform

This is a full time role, and while we strongly prefer folks living in USA, we are open to folks in Mexico. Our compensation philosophy is based on pay equity. All of our salaries are determined before we launch a role – they are based on a predetermined salary scale, the level on that scale and the cost of labor for that location. The annual salary of a Director of Marketing and Communications is $230,000 in San Francisco/NYC, and is $218,500 Austin/Boston/DC/LA/Seattle and is $195,000 in all other US locations.
