Summary:

We're assisting our client, an anesthesia provider, in their search for a Coding Specialist. The Coding Specialist is responsible for accurately coding services rendered. This includes reviewing patient medical records from multiple facilities to ensure proper documentation and assigning the correct CPT, ICD-10, and Quality Measure codes. The Coding Specialist will ensure that all coding complies with payer and governmental regulations and meets deadlines for charge posting and claims submission. Additionally, this position supports the Billing Department as needed and assists with other daily team functions to ensure timely and accurate processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Review patient medical records for proper documentation and coding needs.
  • Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and Quality Measure codes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable payer and governmental regulations.
  • Meet strict deadlines for charge posting and claims submission.
  • Assist with day-to-day team functions and provide backup support to the Billing Department.
  • Stay up-to-date on coding guidelines, payer rules, and regulations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve coding or billing issues.


Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), CPC-A, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and Quality Measure coding.
  • Familiarity with anesthesia services coding is a plus.
  • Experience with medical billing and coding software.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
