Purpose:

This position will manage fleet operations and report to the Director of Fleet Services. This position will be responsible for implementing processes including, but not limited to, budgetary reporting, fleet process and procedure management, inventory reporting, fleet electrification and/or zero emission strategy, and automation. Additional responsibilities include vendor management as well as managing programs and initiatives as assigned. This position will play a pivotal role in optimizing the organization's fleet operations and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the fleet services department.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 to 7 years of Fleet Management experience required. Fleet management regarding retail, or multi locations, preferred.
  • Experience with material handling equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of fleet electrification regulations preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Essential Job Functions:

Major Responsibilities
  • Strategically execute procurement, contract management, inventory management, and maintenance of entire fleet of material handling equipment. This may include fork trucks, yard trucks, industrial batteries and chargers, fuel cells, sweepers/scrubbers, automation, miscellaneous warehouse supplies, and other specialty equipment at all stores, distribution centers and other corporate locations.
  • Oversee and optimize the inventory of fleet assets ensuring accurate tracking and timely replenishment.
  • Implement and evaluate robust inventory control measures, including re-balancing of assets, by effectively utilizing fleet management software to track, analyze and report on inventory performance.
  • Conduct regular audits to, among other things, validate inventory accuracy identify areas for improvement, and other initiatives as assigned.
  • Independently manage, triage, dispatch and seek resolution on emergency services calls and daily transactions, including estimate review and approval, to ensure quality and prompt service is delivered to our stores and distribution centers. These calls may occur 24hrs./7days.
  • Spearhead initiatives to transition to the fleet towards electrification and zero-emission technologies.
  • Conduct site specific analysis and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable strategies and best practices.
  • Leverage technology to enhance efficiency, reduce manual interventions, and streamline workflows.
  • Identify trends and opportunities and report weekly to key divisional corporate and field operations stakeholders.
  • Assist Director of Fleet Services in companywide rollout of approved fleet programs.
  • Assist Director of Fleet Services with life-cycle management of capitalized projects and equipment.
VENDOR MANAGEMENT
  • Establish, maintain, and execute strong partnerships with fleet services vendors.
  • Collaborate with Director of Fleet Services to ensure vendor compliance with company's goals and standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and ensure vendors exceed quality and cost expectations.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with primary vendors to discuss performance and opportunities.
CATEGORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide primary support to all stores, distribution centers and interdepartmental corporate teams.
  • Execute and maintain SOP's, equipment specifications, and store inventory.
  • Work with Procurement on RFPs as needed.
  • Manage QBR process of assigned category.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and execute comprehensive budgetary processes for the fleet services department.
  • Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure adherence to budget constraints.
WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL & ENVIRONMENT):
  • Travel required including air and car
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work - Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
