Host Homes Program Coordinator

The Host Homes Program Coordinator will co-design , implement, lead and help evaluate the program. The Host Home Program identifies, screens and trains community member who volunteer to host youth aged 16-24 who are in need of immediate housing. The Host Home Program emphasizes participation by LGBTQ+ welcoming and affirming hosts. The Host Homes Program Coordinator will collaborate with local partners and appropriately connect young people in need of housing with hosts.

This position is a Full-Time hourly position with a starting pay rate of $24.03 per hour, $50,000.00 annualized. This position is non-exempt.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Co-create program policies and procedures based on Host Home Program best practices.
  • Work closely with the development team to design and market the program to the Central Florida community
  • Recruit potential host homes in the Central Florida area. This includes event planning and public speaking
  • Screen potential host home candidates
  • Certify and disqualify applicants per policies
  • Provide on going support to hosts as they move through the process of hosting young people in our area.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with partner organizations to assure needs and concerns of youth and hosts are being addressed in a regular and systematic way
  • Regular communication and collaborative meetings with youth case management partners
  • Create a monthly newsletter intentioned to provide the local Host Home community of the latest updates of the program
  • Collaborate with other agency departments professionally and respectfully on behalf of Supportive Housing programs
  • Plan and attend regular, ongoing trainings related to topics connected to Host Home Programming including supporting LGBTQ+ youth experiencing housing instability, positive youth development, trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, and host home best practices.
  • Identify and report gaps in services to Director of Community Based Programs
  • Conforms to all codes of ethics, established or to be established, regarding performance of duty, participant interaction, confidentiality etc.
  • Participate in Program Manager meetings and events hosted by HSN or IMPOWER
  • Represent Supportive Housing Programs and IMPOWER in the community
  • Abides by the ethics, policies and procedures, and professional standards of IMPOWER, Inc.
  • Completes required essential learning trainings within designated time frames
  • Completes all other tasks and duties as assigned or as needed to help drive IMPOWER's vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization's values.

Requirements

Qualifications, Education, Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Services or Related Field
  • 5+ years of experience in field of social services, housing, community organizations, or other relevant work
  • Demonstrated experience with working with LGBTQ+ youth, youth of minority groups and commitment to integrating youth voice into all components of the Host Home Program
  • Project management and or program development experience
  • Experience with community engagement
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, creativity, and a commitment to and passion for the organization's mission and ending youth homelessness
  • Successful background screenings through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, State and County
  • Valid drivers license and auto insurance, and successful motor vehicle driving record background check
  • Negative result from a multi panel drug screen

Salary Description

$24.03 per hour
