Summary:

Responsible for overseeing maintaining, repairing and replacing general medical equipment. Responsible for safeguarding hospital medical assets through accurate and detailed documentation as well as managing existing inventories, to thereby ensure that all hospital personnel can complete their daily tasks required to make life better for children.

Responsibilities:

* 1. Analyze, troubleshoot, install, rebuild, adjust and replace, general medical equipment . May include, but not limited to: refrigerators, warmers, bearings, motors, heat exchanges, and chillers, beds, cribs, stretchers.
* 2. Performs major and/or minor repair, as well preventative and corrective maintenance of general biomed equipment
* 3. Order, track, record and maintain inventory parts for equipment
* 4. Inspect and verify the operation and safety of the equipment
* 5. Responsible for coordination and prioritizing repair tasks to respond in a timely manner and provide timely repairs and reduced downtime. Repair and maintain all low voltage, equipment voltage and control voltages. Respond to emergencies in building during scheduled hours as well as after hours, including on call.
* 6. Responsible for attending new equipment training, training staff and demonstrating proper safe use and operation of equipment to staff. Identify and correct unsafe conditions and practices. Identify, document and notify supervisors and managers of damage, abuse and negligent use of equipment.
* 7. Track work orders, inventory and communicate status to appropriate personnel.
* 8. Assist in management of warranties.
* 9. Manage vendor services as needed including documentation
* 10. Drive company and/or personal vehicle between various Children's Health location for meetings/projects or to service and/or install equipment.

How You'll Be Successful:

Work Experience

* At least 5 years of related experience Required

Education

* High school diploma or equivalent Required

Licenses and Certifications

* Federal EPA Certification, required for positions working with refrigeration systems
* N.A.T.E. Certification, for positions working with refrigeration systems Preferred
* Valid unrestricted driver's license and proof of insurance Required
