Our organization has been running for about 5 years now. We now introduce all different forms of art with each program season having a specific focus. Each year between the school year and summer program, we service about 50-70 youth. Many of which are from sucesslink and some outside sucesslink. Our youth come from all over Boston. We currently have youth from, Hyde Park, West Roxbury, Mattapan, Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, Roxbury and east Boston. We offer a range of artistic opportunities for youth, from visual art, preforming art, digital art, film making and many other creative forms of art. We also examine art as a career pathway to let youth know that they can create a living doing what they love. Act Up helps youth use their life experiences, trauma, feelings, culture, identity ect and turn them into magical pieces of art.
Act Up is a youth arts program where young people use their life experiences to heal themselves by transforming those experiences into art.
Must have interest in arts Must be open to learning new skills Must be willing to preform, monologues, scenes, poems ect
Must be open to learning technical aspects to creating a film / tv production
