Chapman Ford is searching for an experienced Automotive Payroll Administrator to join our team The Payroll Administrator plays a critical role in the dealership's business office operations, managing payroll processes and procedures, and serving as the primary point of contact for payroll related inquiries. To be successful in this role, candidates must display professionalism and be data driven and meticulous. The Payroll Administrator reports to the Office Manager and Controller.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the verification of time records for compliance, accuracy, and completeness
  • Timely and accurate processing of multiple payroll cycles per month
  • Responsible for calculating and administration of payroll deductions (i.e. wage garnishments, child support, etc.)
  • Calculate and process weekly spiff and commissions payments
  • Process applicable payroll taxes
  • Prepare monthly reports and reconciliations
  • Accurately maintain personnel records and process new hire and terminated employee documentation
  • Process and pay monthly employee benefits

Desired Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience working in automotive payroll processing is ideal; dealership accounting experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to enter data efficiently and accurately
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills, displaying professionalism and tact when interacting with employees in person, over the phone, or in writing
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality is critical
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Hours and Work Environment

This is on onsite position, working in an office environment. Normal work days are Monday through Friday with the occasional Saturday as needed.
