EEG Technician | Weirton

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs routine and complex procedures to obtain data foruse in the diagnosis of clinic disorders of the nervous system in at least oneof the following modalities of Neurodiagnostics: Electroencephalography (EEG),Evoked Potentials (EP), Epilepsy Monitoring and Polysomnography (PSG)
- Reviews the patient's medical history and meets with them toexplain the procedure and answer questions
- Functions as a resource person to physicians and theirstaff, family members and hospital staff
- Prepares patient and performs Electroencephalograms,Ambulatory EEG's, BAER's, VEP and other tests within scope of practice
- Reports findings or concerns to reading physician for promptinterpretation
- Cleans and maintains equipment (EEG machine and accessories)
- Uses specific protocol for patient wires including takingthem off and proper cleaning and storage
- Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies andprocedures
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a biological or psychological field; asrequired by state regulations and contract specifications
- Appropriate Certification or State licensure; as required bystate regulations or contract specifications
- One (1) year of experience in related field preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
- Participation and completion of amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
- Computer proficiency required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
