ED Technician

Job Summary:

As an ED Tech at Weirton Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in our Emergency Department. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting patients and visitors, providing routine patient care, and taking direction from nurses and physicians to ensure the highest level of quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide efficient, safe, and timely patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Take direction from nurses and physicians to ensure the highest level of quality care.
• Perform routine tests such as phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, and EKGs.
• Start IV lines and draw blood for laboratory as directed by physicians.
• Provide discharge instructions to patients and families under the direction of the RN.

Requirements:

High school graduate or GED equivalent required. Successful completion of Paramedic training program. Current Paramedic certification or licensure equivalent required. Ability to use good judgment in the care and transporting of patients. CPR certification and CPI training required. Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and successful completion of arrhythmia test. ACLS and PALS Pre-hospital EMS certification preferred.
