Role Overview:
As a vital member of the surgical team, you will support the delivery of exceptional care to surgical patients under the guidance of a registered nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate the effective management of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment, adhering to age-specific and procedure-specific care protocols.
2. Take charge of 'on call' responsibilities as needed.
3. Execute your duties in alignment with hospital policies, Operating Room Standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Professional Standards:
Demonstrate initiative and maintain a consistent level of productivity. Your communication on behalf of patients should embody the mission, ethics, and objectives of Weirton Medical Center.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited surgical technician program.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- Preferred certification as a surgical technologist or a graduate of an approved program with a commitment to obtain certification within one year.
- A minimum of two years of experience in an Operating Room setting is preferred.
