The main role of the Account Receivables Assistant is to ensure that NSH properly records patient or insurance payments to the correct patient(s) account. The duties and responsibilities of this position require not only a knack for numbers, but also attention to detail and well-developed organizational skills. Candidates with a background in accounting or those who have taken relevant college-level courses are highly favored.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Posts patient and insurance payments by recording check, lockbox, credit card, EFT and ACH deposits.
* Posting payments with accuracy, efficiency and timeliness is required.
* Maintain essential internal control logs.
* Contacts other departments and/or outside vendors to verify patient accounts
* Leverages internal business relationships with internal customers and peers.

REQUIRED:

1. Basic keyboard skills.

2. Basic 10-key skills. (National Average = 8,000 keystrokes/minute)

3. Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

4. High level of discretion/confidentiality

5. Excellent organizational and time management skills 6. Ability to work in an environment with interruptions

7. Highly accurate and detail oriented

8. Ability to work as a team as well as independently

PREFERRED:

1. One (1) year experience in Account Receivables or comparable equivalent experience.

2. One (1) to two (2) years of college or vocational education with emphasis in Accounting or Business.
