The GTA is responsible for managing IT infrastructure services for numerous state agencies and local government entities, ensuring the delivery of essential services such as mainframes, servers, and network management.

Position Overview:

As an Accountant 1, you will work under limited supervision to perform reconciliations between subsidiary ledgers and the general ledger. Your role will involve compiling and analyzing intricate financial data to produce accurate financial and operational reports.

You will need to grasp complex business requirements and adhere to generally accepted accounting principles while understanding the authority's operations related to financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct reconciliations between subsidiary ledgers and the general ledger.
  • Prepare and analyze specialized financial reports that require in-depth analysis.
  • Create and maintain a monthly miscellaneous retained file.
  • Verify the accuracy of complex accounting transactions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Apply accounting principles in documenting and reviewing financial activities.
  • Assist in updating departmental policies to ensure compliance with audit standards.
  • Provide customer service for complex financial inquiries and collaborate with management and external entities.
  • Compile information for regulatory agencies and auditors as needed.
  • Perform duties with minimal supervision and recommend accounting policies.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, completion of governmental accounting series for state employees, and two years of experience equivalent to a Paraprofessional Accountant, Senior, or a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in state government accounts receivable, completion of governmental accounting series, proficiency in PeopleSoft/Teamwork, strong skills in Microsoft Office, and experience in financial monitoring and report creation.

Compensation and Work Environment:

Salary Range: $42,300 – $59,000
Work Type: Hybrid – Remote Work Option available.
