SUMMARY: The Avionic Technician I must demonstrate high mechanical aptitude and will inspect, service, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul aircraft components while maintaining a safe work environment and following all company and federal rules/ regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service aircraft avionics/accessories/oxygen equipment.


* Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.


* Maintain all shop calibrated tools in satisfactory operational conditions.


* Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved technical and regulatory data.


* Perform work assignments as determined by the shop lead.


* Uses appropriate inspection techniques, and calibrated equipment for the unit/part being accomplished.


* Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures.


* Records information and accomplishes the work assignments in compliance with the inspection procedures manual in quality policies and procedures.


* Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.


* Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner.


* Other duties as assigned.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

* Associates degree


* 3+ year of relevant/technical work experience OR
* An additional 2 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.




* Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings


* The ability to teardown, inspection, parts requisition, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of aircraft accessory/avionic/oxygen units to the component level.


* Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status


* Must be computer literate, and proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel).



PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree


* 5+ years of specific work experience


* Strong knowledge of avionic components


* Strong knowledge of accessory components


* Strong knowledge of oxygen components


* Digital selector panels


* FCC General Radio Telephone license



OTHER:

* The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
