Position: Engineering Technician
Location: Miramar, FL
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Direct Hire - 3rd Shift - 11pm-7:30am

Kelly Engineering is recruiting for an Engineering Technician on 3rd Shift for our client in Miramar, FL. As an Engineering Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our packaging line equipment. Your responsibilities will include performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and installations to minimize downtime and support continuous production runs. You will work closely with our engineering team to develop and improve manufacturing processes, create and edit necessary documentation, and troubleshoot issues to maintain high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Ensure packaging equipment operates at peak performance.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Quickly resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Installation and Testing: Assist in the installation and qualification of new packaging equipment.
  • Engineering Support: Collaborate with engineers to improve processes and develop tooling.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve causes of downtime.
  • On-Call Support: Provide urgent support for production machine issues.
  • Documentation: Write shift updates and maintain equipment documentation.
  • Task Management: Organize and assign tasks to junior technicians.
  • Compliance: Adhere to regulatory and safety requirements.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred. Two years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Basic sensor and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Reading and interpreting diagrams and schematics.
  • Experience with industrial or packaging equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports and procedures.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Problem-Solving:
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Decision-making abilities to promptly address machinery issues.
