A Day in the Life:

The Eligibility Specialist identifies, manages, and processes resident demographic, eligibility, and financial data at Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. Collaborates with various teams to achieve and maintain benefits eligibility. Demonstrates core values of excellence, wellness, compassion, and empowerment.

Eligibility Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Organize, coordinate, and execute eligibility screenings and recertifications to ensure residents meet financial requirements for benefits eligibility
  • Act as a liaison between residents' responsible party and governmental agencies, providing financial case management on behalf of Home of the Innocents
  • Obtain, verify, and communicate all necessary documentation for eligibility determination, ensuring timely and accurate completion of applications for Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to obtain necessary documentation and support eligibility submissions
  • Establish and maintain thorough financial records for each resident, ensuring compliance with governing standards and guidance
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to coordinate third-party billing, providing timely information to the revenue cycle team
  • Attend Medicaid appointments with responsible parties to assist in obtaining or maintaining eligibility
  • Treat residents, families, and team members with respect and confidentiality, reporting any concerns immediately

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required; Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Current CPR/Basic Life Support certification required, will provide if needed
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality

Shifts Available:
  • 40 hours / Week, Monday - Friday, typical hours are 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, but some variances to schedule should be expected

Pay:
  • Range is typically between $18.50-$20.00, however, final compensation will be based on experience and interviews
