Medicaid Eligibility Case Manager

At Home of the Innocents, we are dedicated to enriching lives with hope, health, and happiness. As a Medicaid Eligibility Case Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring that residents in our Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center are financially eligible for admission and continued stay in the skilled nursing facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Medicaid eligibility screenings and recertifications for resident financial data
  • Assist parents and guardians with Medicaid and/or Medicare applications
  • Act as a representative payee for residents when necessary
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure a smooth revenue cycle
  • Serve as a liaison between residents' responsible parties and governmental agencies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for eligibility determination
  • Establish and maintain financial records
  • Treat all stakeholders with respect and confidentiality, ensuring protection from abuse and neglect
  • Promote a culture of diversity, inclusion, and non-violence

Requirements:
  • Function independently with flexibility, integrity, professionalism, and compassion
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one year of experience in Medicaid, Medicare, insurance, benefits eligibility, reimbursement, or case management, Long-term or acute care experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of nursing home admission eligibility criteria, Medicaid and Medicare regulations, and Social Security program requirements
  • Current CPR/Basic Life Support certification required (provided if necessary)
