Talis Group's client is an award-winning, full-service law firm.  They are looking to hire a Billing Specialist to support the daily operations of the accounting team in Louisville.  This role will prepare & process billing invoices from pre-stage to final invoicing for the firm’s clients.  This is a full-time, direct hire position with a salary range of $60-70k (depending on experience) plus full benefits & paid time off.  This employer provides flexible day scheduling, along with a hybrid schedule after initial 120 days of training. Highlighted Duties:
  • Billing Process Management:  Collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and other team members to generate prebills, monitor unbilled time, and to ensure timely billing and collections.
  • Prebill Editing:  Make necessary edits to prebills per partner instructions, including time descriptions, transfers, and write-downs/offs of unbilled time/costs in accordance with firm policies. 
  • Client Account Management:  Proactively follow-up with Billing Partners and others to resolve client billing issues & ensure invoices are approved and billed.
  • Account Reconciliation:  Reconcile and maintain client accounts & accrual schedules.
  • Prebill Review:  Review prebills and follow-up with attorneys to ensure that entries are posted correctly.
  • Billing System Utilization:  Edit & translate prebills into bills using the 3E system. 
  •  Provide general support to the accounting department as needed.
 Highlighted Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience of similar work, preferably in a law firm or professional organization.
  • Proficiency in Elite Enterprise Accounting software, 3E, or ADERANT is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (formatting, pivot tables, and basic formulas.)
  • Ability to prioritize & organize tasks with high attention to details.
  • Maintain professionalism & strict confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
