Role DescriptionThe Sales Business Development Representative will play a key role in expanding Pella KC’s customer base and enhancing existing relationships. This role involves proactive prospecting, engaging with clients and industry professionals, and representing Pella KC at various events. The ideal candidate will be a goal-oriented individual with a strong ability to identify and seize new business opportunities while providing outstanding customer service.

Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and enhance relationships with existing customers while actively seeking and acquiring new business opportunities to achieve growth objectives.
  • Problem Solving & Negotiation: Address and resolve customer issues effectively, and negotiate conflicts in a manner that aligns with company policies and customer satisfaction.
  • Sales Process & Cold Calling: Proactively identify new business opportunities, engage in daily cold calling sessions, and utilize sales tools to drive results.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent Pella KC at industry events, professional groups, trade association meetings, and builder home shows. Build relationships and present Pella products and services effectively.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring accurate information and timely follow-up. Handle minor deliveries and warranty/service work as needed.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive customer records in SalesForce, including contact details and account data. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of products by managing paperwork and related follow-up.
  • Learning & Development: Stay informed about construction science and industry trends to enhance your expertise. Understand and document key business metrics and success factors for prospects.
  • Company Advocacy: Actively advocate for Pella products and services beyond the workplace. Develop and communicate a strong value proposition to prospects and clients.

Qualifications:
  • Experience or knowledge in sales and business development, preferably in the construction or home improvement industry.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a goal-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software (e.g., SalesForce) and other sales tools.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and staying current with industry trends.
  • Valid Drivers license and pass a background check and drug test
