 Position: Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist

Job Summary:The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist ensures that products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout manufacturing. This role involves conducting inspections, audits, and tests, identifying non-conformities, and working with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions. The QA Specialist will also play a key role in maintaining compliance with industry standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Control: Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Testing and Validation: Perform or oversee various testing procedures, including visual, dimensional, functional, and performance testing.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and non-conformities, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Root Cause Analysis: This involves investigating and analyzing product defects or quality issues, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve processes, reduce defects, and enhance product quality.
  • Tool Calibration: Oversee the calibration of manufacturing tools to maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards.
  •  Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant quality standards such as ISO 9001, IPC, or other industry-specific regulations.
  • Audits: Prepare documentation and provide information to auditors to assist in internal and external audits. Implement any changes required as a result of audit findings.
  • Training: Support the training of production staff on quality standards, procedures, and equipment usage.
  • Process Monitoring: Monitor production processes to ensure they run efficiently and meet quality standards, recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Track key quality metrics such as defect rates, rework percentages, and customer complaints. Prepare reports and communicate findings to management.
  • Supplier Quality: Help evaluate and manage supplier quality, including conducting supplier audits and resolving supplier-related quality issues.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or a technical discipline) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards such as ISO 9001, IPC, AS9100, or FDA regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and conducting various tests (e.g., SPC, functional tests).
  • Software: Experience with quality management software (e.g., QMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis and CAPA.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
