Early Learning Floater

Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced childcare provider to join our teaching team as a transitional teacher (floater). The ideal candidates will have two+ years of experience working with young children (2-5), at least a Child Development Associate's Certificate or at least 15 college credits in Child Development, Children & Families, or Early Childhood Education, be a team player, and have a passion for early learning.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the lead and assistant teachers to assist and implement daily lesson plans and activities.
  • Be a familiar face for children transitioning from one classroom to the next & help them prepare for that transition.
  • Help create a safe and stimulating classroom environment for 2-5-year-old students.
  • Monitor and engage with children during playtime, meals, and other daily routines.
  • Provide individual and group support to children as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and progress.

Qualifications:
  • Have two years of experience working with children.
  • Have a Child Development Associate Certification or at least 15 college credits in child development, children & families or early childhood education.
  • Able to pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
  • Be 18 years or older and able to work in the United States.
  • A love for children and a desire to work with toddlers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear & sit on the floor with children.
  • Must be patient, nurturing, and able to create a positive learning environment.

Position Overview:
  • This is a full-time position, but Bright Light full-time staff work a 4-day work week
  • The pay range starts at $17 up to $19.50 (relative to experience & education) per hour with a pay increase based on performance at the end of a 90-day probation period.
  • Full-time staff also receive paid holidays & PTO, sick pay, annual raises, reduced child care & more.
