Job Summary

Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced teacher to join our infants' teaching team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, a passion for working with infants and toddlers, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with co-teachers to plan and implement daily lesson plans and activities.
  • Create a safe and stimulating classroom environment for the center's infants.
  • Monitor and engage with children during playtime, meals, and other daily routines.
  • Provide individual and group support to children as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and progress.
  • Complete child assessments and participate in parent/teacher conferences.
  • Mentor new and less experienced staff.
Qualifications
  • Child Development Associate's certification or at least 15 credits in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Children & Families or another related field.
  • Two+ years experience working with young children, preferably ages 6 weeks to 2 years.
  • Must qualify as a Assistant Group Supervisor or Group Supervisor with DHS.
  • Pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
  • Be 18 years or older and able to work in the United States.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear, and sit on the floor with children.
  • Must be patient, nurturing, and able to create a positive learning environment.
Benefits
  • This is a full-time, year-round position.
  • Pay range starts at $16.50 up to $18 (relative to experience and education) per hour with a pay increase based on performance and education at the end of a 90-day probation period.
  • Full-time staff also receive paid holidays, PTO, sick-time, dental or vision insurance, reduced child care, and more.
  • Full-time staff work a four-day work week.
